It's getting chilly! I know that my friends in the Western world will probably still think it's hot, but by Philippine standards, it's getting cooler. Actually, it should be a lot colder by now. Global warming is wreaking its havoc, I guess. Anyway, one thing I like about the weather is that I do not need to use the air con that much. That means SAVINGS on electricity! Even better, it doesn't get too cold - no need for an electric blanket. The flip side - the pool water is waaay too cold. Oh well, I don't swim all that much anyway. Now I'm off to the gym!

Busy Bee

I have always been a busy bee, but this past week tops them all. I decided to list down the things I need to deal with - I love lists by the way: 1. Deadlines last week - yay I met them! 2. Deadlier deadline on Tuesday. 3. Writing deadlines on Monday. 4. Cleaning my condo. It is such a MESS. 5. Getting things ready for my New Year's trip. 6. Going to the gym everyday (I can't!) 7. Managing my finances (FAIL) And that's only the tip of the ice berg! I just think to myself that at least I don't need to deal with more complicated stuff such as insurance for the condo (it's the owner that does that I think). Just imagine if I lived somewhere else and I had to deal with motorhome insurance for example! Today, I will focus on number 3 and get myself ready for the Mexican-themed Thanksgiving party we're having tomorrow at a friend's house. No, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the Philippines, but any excuse to get together and have some fun, h

Facebook Games

People say it's amazing just how popular Facebook has become. I think it's more amazing the so many people are into games now because of this social networking platform. People who never even took a second look at games before are now addicted! Mafia Wars, Restaurant City, Farmville, Cafe World - name it and Facebook will have a game to get you hooked. Cafe World is what's keeping me busy in this realm these days. I just love how you can make various dishes and design your cafe. From walls to tile flooring to tables and chairs - you can play around and create your dream cafe. Of course, having to set your alarm so that you'll wake up in the middle of the night to serve your food to keep it from spoiling is just another of the game's charm. Gotta love it! What's our favorite Facebook game?

New Year's trip...beach...I know I want to go, but for some reason I am hesitating. Maybe it's because of financial considerations. Maybe it's something else. I can't wait to go to the beach, really. You know that song Two Pina Coladas ? I believe the line that goes " has proved that heartaches are cured by the sea..." I don't know if science HAS proved it but a trip to the beach should be just as good as medical travel Mexico , don't you think? Speaking of Mexico, I wonder how their beaches compare to ours? Anyway, I told my friend that I would decide about the trip today. We need to buy the tickets NOW. What's making me hesitate?

Stairs and A Hedgehog

The elevators in our office building are the worst, I swear. One (or two) is always on the fritz, and at 11:00pm, it's practically impossible to get one. That's why I make it a point to leave earlier or later - at least I won't have to deal with the crowd (which reminds me of the zoo for some reason). Last night, Ren and I got caught in the middle of that mayhem. Our solution? Take the stairs! It wasn't that bad - our office is on the 1oth floor. At least we had a bit of exercise (our version of Solo Slim if you must). Naturally, we had to document it. Ren at the end of the "trek." Light at the end of the tunnel? Yes, I am walking down the stairs! The lady behind me looks pissed. Like a scene from a horror movie. Earlier that night, we had a visitor. A colleague brought over a baby hedgehog that he's been trying to sell to me. I really want it, but I am afraid that I won't be able to take care of it. Right now I have Dexter the turtle and F
