No doubt about it, there are days when life seems to be one unending slog. It's probably exaggerated these days, with the inability to travel (which, if you know me, is not a small thing).
Yesterday was one of the not-so-good days, which actually caught me off guard as I woke up feeling good. I felt I was in a good place. Then again, you know what they say - that's when the universe decides to laugh at you.
Anyhow, these past months, more than ever, I have learned how to look for those little things that make life brighter.
One of the surprises for me was realizing how much I like flowers at home. I've never been one for them, but now, having a vase with colorful blooms on the table makes for good morning. It's even easier to get them now, with delivery services more accessible and cheaper. If you're in the NY/NJ area, a great option is nj flower delivery from Plant Shed.
I prefer the brightness and cheer sunflowers bring, but the bunch we have right now (see photo) lasts forever! I think it's been there for a month.
Another of those little things that get me through the day and has been a constant is essential oil diffusing. I am not a believer in essential oils being a catch-all cure, but diffusing various scents upon waking up and before sleeping really improves my mood.
Two little things. Simple things.
I would never have thought flowers and oils would be fixtures in my life, but then again, so many things have happened which I never thought would.
