Of Audio Jacks, Food, and Christmas Bazaars

It's that time of the year again, when the city streets are lit up as if there were no tomorrow. Christmas songs are played in every restaurant, coffee shop, and mall - practically everywhere you go.

I wouldn't have dared to go out on a Friday afternoon during this season, especially on a payday Friday, but my sister was in town so we spent some time together.

First stop: lunch at Wee Nam Kee, my favorite stop for Hainanese Chicken (not that there are a lot of choices here).

Next up: look for an audio jack (long story), to no avail, although a musician friend might just have one.

And of course, Christmas bazaars - well just one. It was a rather quick shopping stop, but we did get pretty good deals. In any case, there are other bazaars and other times (hopefully).

In between - many hours actually - we just sat at a coffee shop while I worked and she did homework for her Masters class.

Most important, though, is that my sister and I got to spend some time together - which is even more meaningful at this point in our lives...but that's a story for another day.

Bonus: watching an old American Dad Christmas episode (where the Rapture and Second Coming happened) while eating cold pasta salad.

All in all a pretty good day.
