Sam's 7th Birthday

Talk about delayed posts. This is more than a month late, and I know it's not an excuse, but better late than never!

At the end of June, we had a small celebration at home for Sam's 7th birthday. At that time, I was just happy to be in the presence of family, with everyone being themselves. Kids screaming and running around - or doing whatever it is that amused them. Adults lounging around eating, talking, and drinking.

It was beautiful.

Of course, the best thing about it was the fact that we were celebrating the 7th birthday of my nephew, the little boy who the doctor said would have two years, max.

Sam is a living testament of hope, of not giving up. He may not be able to walk on his own or talk yet, but he shows his love in so many ways. This is him hugging his second cousin, Qaelar.
Sam's little brother, Eli, just turned one, and he is learning to eat by himself. Not exactly the neatest activity, but he sure had tons of fun. Granny had fun posing for photos as well!
Right after opening his gifts, Sam just wanted all the kids to play with him. Eli has a different idea...
Grappy with his two grandkids.
Belated Happy Birthday, Sam! I know we'll be celebrating more!
