Tatami at Serendra

Today has been a very easy day, even though I have been able to sneak in several hours of work. Late in the afternoon, I decided to go to Serendra and Bonifacio High Street - locations which I haven't visited in almost a year, I think. While there were still a lot of people - a little too much for comfort - it was still much better compared to Megamall on a Sunday. So anyway, after roaming around for a while, hunger pangs started to kick in. With so many choices, I really couldn't make up my mind. I ended up at this Japanese restaurant called Tatami. It was the quietest place in the area, and Japanese is always good for me, so I thought why not. As it turned out, it's nothing to write home about. It wasn't bad, but it was poor. I had the Tatami Style Tuna Sashimi and Miso Soup for starters. The tuna sashimi was okay, although the cut could have been better. The was more like water than miso. 'Nuff said. I Blame My Job

Around two years ago, I was able to kick myself and summoned enough energy, motivation, and discipline to get off my butt and lose weight. The results were awesome, if I say so myself. There really is nothing like regular exercise and moderate food intake. Two years down the road, I have gained considerable weight and can't seem to get that groove back. I have tried so many things. Believe me, I have tried. I just can't seem to make myself regularly jog, walk, run or whatever. And the food... I blame my job. One of the things I do for my job is to work on a site that's all about recipes (this calls for a separate post, I think). It's one of the things I have been working on for the past year, and boy, does it serve as an ever present temptation. I love to cook, but working on recipes and photos of scrumptious food simply doesn't help with self control. Not that I have a lot of that. (Now if my job were working on a fitness portal...NOOOOO!) Then again, if I

Craving Italian Food? Casa Nostra is THE Place to Go!

I have a weakness for most things Italian. I'd die to spend some time in Italy just roaming the streets in amazement. I love hearing the Italian language spoken. I remember Elizabeth Gilbert saying it is the world's sexiest language. I used to think it was French, but having interacted more with people from Italy and France in the past years, I think that Italian does have an edge. Then there's the food. Glorious Italian food! Who doesn't love Italian food? I doubt that you can find more than a handful of people who are not enamored with Italian food! Having professed (for the nth time, actually) my love for Italian food, I guess I should now say how I am always on the lookout for good Italian food in Manila. There are a couple of decent restaurants that I regularly visit, but it is always a great adventure to find a new place that offers something better. And believe me, I think I just found the ultimate Italian restaurant in this part of the world. I know I am n
