Of Early Working Hours and Dreams

NOTE: I started this post last Wednesday but got caught up in work and had to stop.  Since I can't sleep anyway, I thought I'd finish it now. This week has been kind of weird for me so far. Jerry started his training for a Korean company one floor down from the office. From Monday to Wednesday, he had to go to work from 9am to 6 pm.  Since I could pretty much adjust to his working hours, I decided to go to work at the same time for convenience.  It was difficult getting up at 6 in the morning to make coffee and prepare breakfast and lunch but we survived - we had to eat dinner out almost everyday, though, as we were exhausted by the time it was time to go home. One realization for me is that it is actually nice to go to work during normal hours like normal people.  I suppose you just need to get used to the schedule.  What I didn't relish was having to jostle with the crowd in order to get a cab to go home. On a different note...I still remember that dream I had on Tue

13a Visa Approved!

At least that's what the lady (or gentleman, I couldn't really tell over the phone) at the Immigration office told me the other day when I called.  It was actually weird because I have been trying to call them for 2 days and all I got was a busy signal.  So I got Hannah to call them and guess what, she got them in one try!  Anyhow, she said she was freaked out by the lady/gentleman's voice so she forgot the details - that really irritated me!  So I tried my luck and was able to get through. The lady/gentleman's voice was indeed freaky but I was able to determine that Jer's visa was approved last October 4 and now all we have to do is head on over to the Immigration office on Monday, pay, and have his passport stamped. This is something that we really need right now.  At times like these, I just can't help but think on how blessings come at the perfect moment.

Dreaming About Work?!

The past year has been unbelievably busy and stressful for me in terms of work.  I would like to believe that I handle stress pretty well.  Some may disagree with me but all I know is that despite the stress and all the flak, I still get my work done.  Last week really put me to the test, though. Let's just say that I was looking forward to the next 2 months as a time to catch up on the backlog at work.  That also means some degree of breathing space for me and my workmates.  Unfortunately, we realized that we had made a miscalculation which means that we are going to have to work harder than ever under pressure. Anyhow, the night I heard the news, I got home feeling really tired and I dozed off more easily than usual.  My hopes of getting a good night's sleep faded early in the night as I started dreaming about the list of people that we have to evaluate for an additional cycle.  I know I probably am not making any sense but I just had to write this down.
