Celadon Thai Resto at Powerplant Mall, Rockwell

Thai food is one of those things that always sound good to me, and when my friend invited me for a dinner at Celadon at Powerplant Mall, I was rather excited to try a new place - new at least for me.

Located at Unit 145 R1 Lopez Drive, Rockwell (same side as Barcino), the restaurant has an outside dining area, which is perfect for a nice breezy summer night. And even if it's stinking hot, like it has been all summer, their ceiling fans are powerful enough to make al fresco diners feel comfortable.
As for the food, while I enjoyed it, there's not much to write home about. I think the best part was the starter - green papaya salad.

Their fried spring rolls was not bad either, but I have to admit I am not a fan of fried spring rolls. I'd much rather have the fresh, chewy rice paper wrappers. One good thing: it was not too greasy.

For the main dish, of course, it had to be curry of some sort. We had Thai green curry (pork).

The portion is good for two - maybe even three if you don't eat much - although I have to say that I wish they had a little more veggies in the mix. Also, while the curry was spicy (we ordered mild, which was medium for me, but I have a low "spicy" tolerance), I prefer Mango Tree Bistro's curries much more.

Still, if you're craving Thai, and you want something that has a quiet atmosphere, Celadon is an option.
